Description:

BJ was originally named Bon Jour, but her name was shortened by her previous owners. She got the name by being a vocal little lady who said a loud "Hello" to everyone she met. Unfortunately, when BJ's owners had to go into a retirement / assisted living facility,BJ's her constant barking at all the new and strange sounds, scents, and movement made it impossible for her to stay there.

UPDATE: Health and veterinary concerns/needs
B.J. takes Proin twice daily to help control urinary incontinence She can generally control this while using the medication but she does need regular opportunities to take a restroom break.

RECENT-  BJ has been having some cognitive and physical problems over the past month or so. The likely diagnosis is a stroke or series of small strokes that have affected her memory as well as her coordination. She's not in any pain, but she is not particularly aware all the time and also tends to be confused when approached by a couple of the dogs in her foster home, often just growling and showing teeth as if she's trying to warn a stranger to leave her alone. The others have gotten used to her and are giving her space, and she's used to her foster family so that's not a problem. She wasn't that young to begin with so it's hard to predict to what extent she'll recover. BJ is in a long-term foster situation and will be comfy and cared for while we see her through this chapter of her life. Unfotunately she is not a candidate for adoption in these circumstances.
