Max is a nice gentleman who has some mobility issues that we discovered when we got him from the shelter some time ago. Thanks to good medication and a strong love of life, you'd never know he has problems. Max's rear legs have some deformed bones and joints on both sides. The vet was unable to determine if he was born that way or if it's trauma induced from many years ago. In either case, there is no way to surgically correct the condition. He also has some chronic IVDD (back pain), probably age-related. Given that Max is very responsive to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication we are confident he can continue to enjoy his quality of life. Max is a happy boy who loves people, enjoys most other dogs, and is still mighty good looking for a senior gentleman!
